Google Calendar
Connect Google Calendar to ChronSync for real-time availability and automatic event creation.
Google Calendar
ChronSync integrates with Google Calendar through OAuth, giving it read and write access to your calendar events.
Connecting Google Calendar
- Go to Calendars in the sidebar
- Click Connect Calendar
- Select Google
- A Google sign-in window opens -- choose the account you want to connect
- Review the permissions and click Allow
- The window closes and your Google Calendar appears on the Calendars page
Permissions Requested
ChronSync requests the following Google Calendar scopes:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| View calendar events | Read existing events to calculate availability |
| Create and edit events | Add new booking events to your calendar |
| View calendar list | Identify which calendars belong to your account |
ChronSync only accesses calendar data. It does not read your email, contacts, or other Google services.
What Gets Synced
From Google to ChronSync
- All events on your primary calendar (including all-day events)
- Events marked as "Busy" block availability
- Events marked as "Free" do not block availability
- Recurring events are expanded and each occurrence is checked
From ChronSync to Google
- New bookings create a Google Calendar event with:
- Event title matching the event type name
- Client name and email in the description
- Correct start and end time
Disconnecting
To disconnect Google Calendar:
- Go to Calendars in the sidebar
- Find the Google Calendar card
- Click the disconnect option
After disconnecting, ChronSync no longer reads your Google events or writes bookings to that calendar. Existing bookings already on your Google Calendar remain unchanged.
Troubleshooting
Calendar not syncing? Check that the Google account still has an active session. If the OAuth token has expired, disconnect and reconnect.
Wrong calendar showing? Google accounts can have multiple calendars. ChronSync syncs with the primary calendar of the connected account. Make sure you connect the Google account that has the calendar you use for scheduling.
