Availability
Templates
Create reusable availability templates for different scheduling patterns in ChronSync.
Templates
Availability templates let you save different scheduling patterns and assign them to specific event types. Instead of using one global schedule for everything, you can tailor availability per meeting type.
Why Use Templates
Common scenarios where templates help:
- Different hours for different services -- Offer consultations Monday through Friday but workshops only on Wednesdays
- Seasonal schedules -- Summer hours versus winter hours
- Part-time availability -- A template for mornings only, another for full days
Creating a Template
- Go to Availability in the sidebar
- Click New Template
- Give the template a descriptive name (e.g., "Mornings Only", "Workshop Days")
- Set the available hours for each day of the week, just like you would for your main schedule
- Click Save
Assigning a Template to an Event Type
- Open the event type you want to customize
- In the scheduling settings, find the Availability Template dropdown
- Select the template you created
- Click Save
That event type now uses the template hours instead of your default schedule. Clients booking that event type only see slots within the template hours.
Managing Templates
From the Availability page, you can:
- Edit an existing template to update its hours
- Delete a template you no longer need
- Duplicate a template to create a variation
If you delete a template that is assigned to an event type, that event type reverts to your default schedule.
Default Schedule vs. Templates
| Aspect | Default Schedule | Template |
|---|---|---|
| Scope | Applies to all event types without a template | Applies only to event types assigned to it |
| Count | One per account | Unlimited |
| Editing | From the main Availability page | From the template detail view |
Keep your default schedule set to your most common working hours. Use templates only for the exceptions.
