Scheduling Options
Configure buffer time, booking windows, and minimum notice periods for your event types.
Scheduling Options
Beyond duration, each event type supports scheduling options that give you fine-grained control over when and how clients can book.
Buffer Time
Buffers add padding before and/or after each meeting, preventing back-to-back bookings.
- Buffer before -- Time blocked before the meeting starts (e.g., 10 minutes to prepare)
- Buffer after -- Time blocked after the meeting ends (e.g., 15 minutes for notes)
Buffers are not visible to the client. They simply reduce the available slots so that adjacent meetings never overlap with your prep time.
Example: A 30-minute meeting with a 10-minute buffer before and 15-minute buffer after effectively blocks 55 minutes on your calendar, but the client only sees a 30-minute slot.
Booking Window
The booking window defines how far into the future clients can book.
- Minimum booking window -- The earliest a meeting can be scheduled (see Minimum Notice below)
- Maximum booking window -- The farthest out a client can book (e.g., 30 days, 60 days)
If you set a maximum of 30 days, clients only see availability for the next 30 days. Slots beyond that range are hidden.
Minimum Notice
Minimum notice prevents last-minute bookings by requiring a certain lead time.
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| 1 hour | Clients must book at least 1 hour in advance |
| 4 hours | No same-morning bookings if it is afternoon |
| 24 hours | At least one full day of notice required |
| 48 hours | Two days of lead time |
Choose a minimum notice that gives you enough time to prepare without being too restrictive for clients.
Combining Options
All scheduling options work together. For a 30-minute consultation with:
- 10-minute buffer before
- 15-minute buffer after
- 24-hour minimum notice
- 30-day booking window
Clients see 30-minute slots that are at least 24 hours away, within the next 30 days, with enough surrounding space to accommodate your buffers.
