Your First Event Type

Create your first event type in ChronSync to define the meeting you want to offer.

Your First Event Type

An event type is a template for a meeting you offer. It defines the title, duration, and scheduling rules that clients see on your booking page.

Creating an Event Type

  1. Click Event Types in the sidebar
  2. Click New Event Type
  3. Fill in the basic details:
    • Title -- A clear name like "30-Minute Consultation" or "Product Demo"
    • Slug -- The URL-friendly identifier (auto-generated from the title, editable)
    • Description -- A brief explanation of what the meeting covers
    • Duration -- How long the meeting lasts (15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes)
    • Color -- A visual label for this event type on your calendar
  4. Click Save

That is all you need for a working event type. ChronSync uses your default availability schedule to determine which slots appear on the booking page.

What Happens Next

Once saved, the event type appears on your public booking page at:

https://chronsync.com/book/<your-username>/<event-slug>

Clients who visit this URL see a calendar with your available time slots. When they pick a slot and confirm, the booking appears on your Bookings page.

Optional Settings

You can refine your event type later with:

  • Buffer time before and after meetings
  • Minimum notice to prevent last-minute bookings
  • Booking window to limit how far in advance people can book
  • Daily booking limits to cap the number of meetings per day

These are covered in detail under Event Types.
