What syncs to your calendar

How ChronSync's two-way calendar sync works: it reads your busy times to avoid conflicts and writes each booking to your calendar.

ChronSync's calendar sync runs in two directions: it reads your existing events to protect your time, and it writes new bookings so they land on your calendar. This page explains what flows each way and which settings control it.

Reading your busy times

ChronSync reads the busy times from any connected calendar that has Check for conflicts turned on. It uses those busy times to avoid double-booking you — if you're already busy during a slot, ChronSync won't offer that slot to anyone booking you.

This is how an existing meeting, an all-day block, or a personal appointment on a connected calendar quietly removes those times from your availability.

ChronSync only reads your other calendars' busy times to avoid conflicts. It doesn't import those events as ChronSync bookings — they stay where they are, and you won't see them listed among your bookings.

Writing new bookings

When someone books you, ChronSync writes the booking to your write calendar. That's your Default Calendar, plus any calendar with Write events turned on.

Each written calendar event includes:

  • the event-type title as the event name
  • the time of the booking
  • the booker added as an attendee
  • the meeting link in the event's description or location, when the event type has a video provider

Because the booking is a real calendar event, it then counts as a busy time too — so it blocks that slot on any calendar that checks for conflicts.

Choosing which calendars do what

Two per-calendar toggles, set on the Integrations page, control the sync:

  • Check for conflicts — read this calendar's busy times when working out your availability.
  • Write events — add new bookings to this calendar.

Your Default Calendar is the one new bookings are written to by default; you set it in your profile. See Connect your calendar to set the toggles and Set up your profile to choose your Default Calendar.
