Set buffers and scheduling windows

Add buffer time around meetings and control how far ahead and how soon people can book an event type in ChronSync — using Buffer before, Buffer after, Scheduling window, and Minimum notice.

Control the timing around an event type so bookings land where you want them — with padding between meetings, a limit on how far ahead people can book, and a minimum lead time before each booking. You set all of this in the Scheduling section of the event type form.

Before you start

  • You need an event type to edit. If you don't have one yet, create an event type first.
  • Open the event type and find the Scheduling section.

What each setting does

SettingRangeWhat it does for the booker
Buffer before (minutes)0–120Blocks time right before the meeting, so the slot they pick won't start the instant your previous meeting ends.
Buffer after (minutes)0–120Blocks time right after the meeting, so the next booking can't begin until your padding has passed.
Scheduling window (days)1–365Sets how far in advance they can book — slots beyond this many days won't appear.
Minimum notice (hours)0–720Sets the lead time you need — slots sooner than this won't appear, so no one can book at the last minute.

Set your buffers and windows

Open the Scheduling section

Open the event type you want to change and scroll to Scheduling.

Set the buffer before the meeting

In Buffer before (minutes), enter how many minutes of padding you want ahead of each booking — anywhere from 0 to 120. For example, set 15 to give yourself a quarter hour to prepare before the meeting starts.

Set the buffer after the meeting

In Buffer after (minutes), enter the padding you want following each booking — 0 to 120 minutes. This keeps meetings from stacking back-to-back, so you have time to wrap up and reset.

Set how far ahead people can book

In Scheduling window (days), enter how many days into the future this event type stays bookable — 1 to 365. A window of 30, for instance, means people can book any open slot within the next month, but nothing further out.

Set the minimum notice you need

In Minimum notice (hours), enter the lead time you require before a booking can start — 0 to 720 hours. Set 24, for example, and the earliest someone can book is a full day from now.

Save the event type

Save the form. Your timing rules take effect immediately on your booking page.

Your booking page now reflects every rule at once: bookers only see slots that fall inside your scheduling window, sit beyond your minimum notice, and respect the buffers around your existing meetings.
